November 20, 2016 --- Blue Demons Strong Showing at Hempfield

The boys wrapped up a highly successful season with a very strong showing at the Hempfield Adidas Fall Classic. After falling behind 1-0 in their first game, the boys scored 4 times in the second half for a 4-1 victory over the Haverford Elite squad. In game two the boys lost a tough match 1-0 to Premier Navy (MD). With limited subs available for the weekend, the boys simply ran out of gas and couldn’t get the equalizer. Refreshed by a good night’s sleep, and also perhaps by near freezing cold and heavy wind gusts, the boys routed Hershey 8-1 to close out the tournament, and what proved to be a very successful season.

Some of the high-points of the summer & fall include the following:

  • Undefeated 2016 Delco U13 Division 3 Champions (10W, 1D, 0L)
  • 1st Place, 2016 Battle at Hilltop, U13 Championship Division, Undefeated, 18 GF / 0 GA
  • Runner-Up, 2016 Penn Fusion/West Chester Summer Classic, U13 Elite Division
  • Overall record: 23 wins, 3 draws, 4 losses (107 GF / 21 GA)
  • GotSoccer Pennsylvania East Rank 44

November 12, 2016 Blue Demons take DELCO Championship

The boys complete a nearly flawless league season with a tight 1-0 victory over Concord in the championship game. Despite controlling possession throughout, the boys only tally came mid-way through the first half. A key injury on the back-four created some tense moments in the 2nd half, but the boys as a group stepped up to fill the void, just as they had all season.

All told the boys finished league play, including the play-offs, with 10 wins, 1 draw and 0 losses, and in the process only gave up 3 goals all season.

October 4, 2016 HUGE Weekend for Blue Demons

Entering the weekend in first place, the Blue Demons faced two tough challenges. First up on Saturday was Continental FC Arsenal. A tough back-and-forth first half ended scoreless. The second half was a different story however, as the Blue Demons got back to a strong possession game, which wore Arsenal out, allowing the Demons to strike 3 times for the 3-0 win.

Sunday brought second place, and unbeaten, Boyertown United to the Blue Demons home pitch. In what may have been the Demons best all-around game of the season, they completely dismantled the previously high-scoring team from Boyertown, dominating possession throughout the game and scoring twice in each half for the 4-0 victory.

Secure in first place, the boys head to play in the YMS’ Columbus Cup, where they will compete in a Premier bracket.

Blue Demons End Fall Season with Strong Showing at Welsh Cup

November 30, 2015 — The Blue Demons wrapped up their fall season with a pre-Thanksgiving outing at the 5th Annual HSC Welsh Cup. Facing a very tough draw the Demons acquitted themselves quite nicely.

First up was Nether United 0304 Black, who finish 2nd in Delco Division 1 this fall. Nether struck twice in the first half with the Blue Demons responding with one early in the second. Both teams had their chances as the game got increasingly tense, but it was Nether putting the game away with a late goal off a corner kick to secure the 3-1 victory.

Next up, was Lower Merions Little Liverpool, a team that had beaten the Demons earlier that fall and had finished second in their own fall division. Both teams scored in the opening half, with the Demons notching the game’s first goal and Little Liverpool countering. A back-and-forth second half saw the Blue Demons scoring on a beautiful through-ball leading to a breakaway goal, and the 2-1 victory. The Demons closed out the day with a match against the highly ranked Haverford Heatwave. In a very tight game the boys fell 1-0.

All in all, it was a great finish to our fall season. The boys deserve a ton of credit and congratulations for their hard work and accomplishments this season.

Blue Demons Invade Cape May!

October 12, 2015 — The Blue Demons headed to the Jersey shore over the Columbus Day weekend to play in the George Pratt Memorial Tournament, and to have some fun.

The boys got things going right away on Saturday morning with a dominating 4-0 victory over the Stafford SC Sharks. The boys scored early and controlled the match throughout. Next up was the highly regarded V. Erzbebirge Team Klinsmann. In a very tough and competitive match, the teams remained scoreless until VE scored on a PK in the 51st minute. With the Demons pressing for the equalizer, Klinsmann tallied a late goal to take the match 2-0.

With soccer behind them for the day, the boys and their parents met back at their beachfront hotel for a team party complete with pizza, snacks, swimming in the heated pool, and football on the beach. This was followed by a journey up to the boardwalk to take on the rides at Mariner’s Landing.

Back to soccer on Sunday, the boys rocketed out to a 2-0 lead over Harleysville’s Rangers White team, only to see the Rangers score twice in the second half for a 2-2 draw. Wrapping things up, and perhaps a little winded from the prior night’s festivities, the boys lost a hard-fought battle to Interboro 2-1.

All in all, the weekend was a huge success, with good soccer and a lot of fun!

Dominating Delco Play Against SCCSA Dragons

September 26, 2015 — The U12 Blue Demons played a wildly exciting game against the Southern Chester County SA Dragons today. Despite ripping 15 shots on goal, limiting the Dragons to only 3, and displaying strong play throughout the contest, the Blue Demons came out on the wrong side of the 2-1 result. Undaunted, the Demons are right back at it next weekend, with two Delco D3 contests: Saturday against ENCO Red and Sunday at Radnor Samba.

Get out there next weekend and bring it to ENCO and Radnor, boys!
