Flash Battle to a Draw in League Opener

Sept. 15, 2018 -- The Flash opened their Central League schedule with a 4-4 tie against FC Europa in Paoli. Methacton United took the pitch wearing their blue kits for the away tilt.

The Flash got on the board early with a goal in the first minute of play, as Tyler finished off a left-side cross from Cody. After FC Europa tied the score at 1-1, Tyler struck again with another one-touch finish, this time on a right-side cross from Brendan, to put Methacton back on top. A late goal from FC Europa sent the clubs into halftime tied 2-2.

The Flash kept up the offensive pressure after the break. Jaxon controlled the ball just inside the FC Europa 18, turned and fired a shot past the goaltender. Minutes later, Kenny went upper-left to convert a penalty kick and put Methacton United up 4-2. FC Europa fought back and scored two unanswered goals, including a 1-on-none breakaway, to earn the tie.
